Travel up river to modern steel shipbuilding at Bath Iron Works. Cruise close by Doubling Point Light & the Kennebec Range Lights. There’s something for everybody!

Pack a picnic dinner (or buy a hot dog or sandwich aboard) and take a relaxing cruise along the Sasanoa River to Boothbay Harbor. Enjoy spectacular elevated views of the harbor as you dine next to Burnt Island Lighthouse, which has been guiding mariners since 1821.

The Extraordinary Wildlife of Merrymeeting Bay Cruise

Merrymeeting Bay is gem in our midst. Explore the bay’s extraordinary ecological vitality and abundant wildlife both above and below the surface. See endangered and protected species of wildlife, including short-nosed and Atlantic sturgeon, bald eagles, ospreys, and many species of fish. Explore below the surface as we fly an ROV (remotely operated vehicle) in search of the region’s abundant aquatic life. These trips will be narrated by members of local environmental organizations including Maine Audubon, Lower Kennebec Region Land Trust, and Friends of Merrymeeting Bay. This program is made possible thanks to the generosity of the Merrymeeting Bay Trust.
